Because perennial plants live for many years, they are able to mine the soil for nutrients unavailable to their short-lived annual cousins so are packed with an incredible amount of nutrition. We grow and process a variety of perennial vegetables to increase diversity in your diet. These include tree collards, which are high in calcium and disease-fighting anthocyanins; gynura procumbens, which has an anti-diabetic effect; malabar spinach, which is high in fiber and rich in chlorophyll; and moringa, which reduces inflammation and is high in protein, Vitamin A, calcium, Vitamin C, iron and many more nutrients These plants are not available in most farmers markets or food stores because their powerful nutrient density can create a sharp or bitter flavor that is unpalatable for many people. Our Perennial Greens Powder makes eating these greens not only palatable but also easy and enjoyable.
The flavor of this blend is stronger than most greens you’re used to. Still, it’s subtle enough to disappear into almost anything you add it to. Sprinkle on salads, eggs, rice and quinoa, buttered popcorn, steamed or roasted vegetables, fish or chicken. Add to smoothies, soups, stews, pasta, spaghetti sauce – really, anything you enjoy eating! Our favorite way to use the Perennial Greens Powder is stirred into brown-rice pasta, along with sautéed onions, slices of cooked sausage and freshly cooked greens.
We recommend transferring the powder from the refill pouch to an empty Miron jar to prolong its freshness.
