Beet, Ginger and Turmeric Beverage

Try this heartwarming beverage made from beet, ginger, turmeric, and a small chunk of fresh aloe vera. It’s refreshing, light and takes minutes to prepare. To sweeten this beverage, try honey or maple syrup or simply let a few mulberries or longan berries soak in the beverage for a natural infusion. In the morning, I prefer warm beverages, so I’ll add some warm water to the mixture, but it also tastes great at room temperature or straight from the fridge.

Ingredients
- small chunk aloe vera, diced and blended (optional)
- 5 1/2 cups filtered water
- 2 Tbsp. fresh ginger juice

1 tsp. Dr. Cowan’s Garden Organic Three-Beet Powder
- 1/2 tsp. Dr. Cowan’s Garden Organic Turmeric Powder

1/4 tsp. Dr. Cowan’s Garden Organic Pepper Salt

2 tsp. Dr. Cowan’s Garden Apple Cider Vinegar (Raw and Organic ‘with the Mother’)
- honey or maple syrup (optional)
- handful longan berries or mulberries (optional)
Directions
Cut a small piece of aloe vera.
Carefully trim the green spiky skin.
Use approximately a 1/4 inch of fleshy gel.
Blend with 1/2 cup of water for 60 seconds.
To the aloe mixture add 5 cups of water, ginger juice, vegetable powders and apple cider vinegar and blend for at least 30 seconds.
Sweeten to taste and serve.
Recipe Note
Fresh aloe vera is extremely bitter and a little bit goes a long way. Make sure it’s fully blended before including it in your beverage. Alternatively, you can use a teaspoon of dehydrated aloe vera or omit.
