All of our Ashitaba tea blends are made with the finest biodynamic and organic ingredients. Each contains Ashitaba, a well known longevity herb along with specially chosen complementary herbs. The heart blend contains Hibiscus which tonifies the blood vessels, Hawthorne leaves and berries which support the metabolic activity of the heart tissue, Motherwort another herb that supports the metabolism of the heart, and spearmint which is added for flavor. The best use of this tea is to drink it consistently 1-2 cups per day for the long term.

Each tea tube contains 20 individual bags of tea. Our natural filter tea bags are made with unbleached plant fiber,are biodegradable, and have no strings, tags or outer wrap. The tea tubes are made from paper and lined with kraft paper and foil with a tin outer lid. We have also placed natural kraft food grade tissue paper inside to further protect the tea bags, as well as to serve as a barrier to the inside polyethylene lid that is there to keep the tea as fresh as possible.

Angelica Archangelica

Ashitaba, otherwise known as “tomorrow leaf,” is the only known edible plant in the Angelica family. Plants in this family were considered gifts to the human being during the Middle Ages, hence, its name.

The most famous Angelica is the well-known medicinal plant Angelica Archangelica, or “gift from the angels and archangels,” which was reportedly the only effective agent against the plague. Ashitaba is a close
relative of archangelica, having evolved in its native lands of Japan, Indonesia and the Phillipines.

One of the most intriguing aspects of ashitaba is its high nutrient density, as depicted in the chart. As you can see, the nutrient profile of ashitaba
